A Joyful Family Session at The Cottage at Riverbend – Eagle, Idaho

Some family sessions remind me exactly why I love what I do—and this one at The Cottage at Riverbend in Eagle, Idaho, was one of those unforgettable days.

This beautiful family of six showed up ready to have fun—three lively boys, one sweet little girl, and two parents who clearly love soaking up the joyful chaos of their crew. From the moment we started, the kids were full of energy and giggles, playfully chasing each other, and sharing the kind of little giggles that can’t help but put a smile on your face. I turned to their mom not more than two minutes into the session and exclaimed, “I love how joyful they are!”

The Cottage at Riverbend gave us the perfect backdrop for their session. The soft golden light filtering through the trees, the hedges that made for the perfect “play fort”, and the wide open lawn that gave the kids space to run around and the parents room to relax. It wasn’t about stiff poses or perfect smiles—it was about them being together and exuding the joy spills over.

As a Boise-area family photographer, it’s sessions like this that fill my heart. Capturing connection, play, and personality is what I strive for in every gallery. And this one? Overflowed with it.
