I love the changing seasons! If you asked me what my favorite season is, I would have a hard time choosing just one because there is something to love about all of them. The best part is, as soon as you start to get too sick of one season, it changes, and the change is so refreshing.
Cameron’s session was my last senior session of 2022 and it was a fun, albeit cold one! She was a champ braving the cold for some epic views from the top of Camel’s Back in downtown Boise.
When I first started my business, I started with the bare minimum of essentials needed to keep everything running. Over time, I have invested in several tools that have not only made my business run smoothly, but have also made my life easier, and helped me to grow my business.
The Dawson family welcomed their baby boy, Eli, back in September and he is a sweetheart. He was wide awake during his session, but totally content and so we were able to catch lots of photos of his eyes open and even a few smiles.
Something that is worth saying about family photography is that getting good photos of young kids is not always easy…I am here to tell you that it is still not only possible to get good photos of your child, but it is totally worth it to capture their personality and I have a few tricks up my sleeve to make it happen.
I met the Wortham family a year ago for their maternity photos before Laney was born, and I can’t believe a year has already passed. Time is a thief! Scroll all the way to the bottom for her adorable cake smash.
This past summer I photographed a handful of lifestyle newborn session outdoors and I fell in love! When the weather is warm and nice, this is a beautiful option. This session we almost got rained out, but after we bumped the time, we were able to work around the rain.
Baby Jax was born to my husband’s cousin, Becca, over the summer, and we are so excited to welcome another boy to the family. I always feel a bit of camaraderie with families of two boys since I have two boys (until baby girl arrives in the spring!).
Edith and Andrew welcomed a baby boy in early August. For Edith and Andrew’s maternity photos we explored a few different areas of Hulls Gulch in Boise and had the most beautiful golden light and sunset during the session.
When Brianna contacted me about newborn photos, I asked if they knew if they were having a boy or a girl. She quickly responded that they were keeping it a surprise until the birth, since it would be their last baby.
At the beginning of the summer here in Idaho we had a few days that were very cloudy. Often as photographers, we can get caught up in wanting the famed golden hour light, and so clouds in the forecast can be a bit of a downer. However, cloudy skies do not have to ruin a photoshoot, and in fact may actually help make it something epic.
This maternity session was one that went by in a whirlwind (thanks to three busy kids), and left me feeling so thankful for my job. This family was such a good example of how letting the kids play and be kids can lead to such beautiful images and the more kids you have, the more important this becomes.
As a lifestyle newborn photographer, I am used to photographing my subject in all types of settings and often with little light. Prior to walking into a client’s home for a newborn session, all I know for sure is that I am going to make beautiful photos of the growing family in their home, regardless of what their home looks like or how much light it has.
Being a boy mom, I can’t help but be a little giddy any time I get to do a photoshoot with a baby girl. All the girly stuff is so fun for me and Vera’s shoot was the perfect dose of girl!
This session was such a fun one for me as I got to capture our cousin Becca’s maternity session. They are getting ready to welcome their second baby boy.
When I first pulled up to the Charlton’s downtown Boise early 1900’s home, I was ecstatic. Not only did their home have so much charm and light (every photography dream), but I was going to get to take pics of their newborn baby boy, Clark, and boy what a cutie!
I was so pleased when Ashley reached out to me to do some updated family photos of them with their now 6th month old son, Alex! It felt like just yesterday I was doing his newborn session, but here he was a smiley, interactive and adorable 8 month old.
Today I am sharing part 1 of Madison’s senior portrait session. Madi went with my seasonal deluxe senior portrait package which meant she had a session with me in the fall as well in the spring!
Spring in Boise is always a welcome change after a LOOOONG cold winter. Spring this year brought a number of maternity and newborn shoots for me and I couldn’t be more thrilled to capture this sweet time for these families.
For Derek and Sierra’s engagement photos we met out at Lake Lowell in Nampa, Idaho. It was the beginning of February and a little chilly. I told them it was all the more reason to get nice and cuddly, and that is just what they did.
